You are looking at file photos of the item. UPDATED 5-23-18:A copy of the rare TM-9-654 IS included with each unit. It took me 2 years to obtain each one.
Unit was designed to train operators for height finding , visual range , range & elevation control for aircraft spotting/identification. Please refer to TM 9-654 for more data on this unit. Unit will plug into a standard(non grounded type)110/1/60 power supply(NO cord available but not that unusual an end)it lights up & you look in the view point(rectangular box on left)than you operate the black control knobs to obtain the correct sight picture. There is a graph that gives you a printed record of how you did , some of the correct paper is included. This unit has been in inside storage since the late 1950's & has some surface rust here & there. I NEVER opened this unit to inspect it , I would not know if it was complete or not as I have NEVER even heard of one. This is the most UNIQUE piece of WW2 aviation hardware that I have ever come across. Data:steel,brass,copper,glass & plastic,etc , 54" x 12" , heavy est #95 , NOT TESTED OR CHECKED OUT. YES I tried contacting Kodak & they knew nothing about WW2 materials. My best guess w/limited information I have found only 500 were ever made.
